Biography

Unified Past is the progressive rock vision of guitarist, vocalist, & composer Stephen Speelman. Stephen is a well rounded guitarist who has a master's degree in classical guitar to supplement his love of Prog rock. After a nine year absence from the music scene, Stephen has revived Unified Past, but this time as a studio project with original drummer and life long friend Victor Tassone. Stephen relocated to the Central New York region of Syracuse in 2007 and began writing and recording again after seven years of inactivity. Stephen re-united with Long Island Drummer Victor Tassone and the two musicians spent the next two years working on their new CD. Arriving late to the project was original vocalist Steve Calovi, who none the less made it through the entire project. Former keyboardist Vinny Krivacsy also contributes keys to three tracks as well. The result is their new cd ?Tense?, a twelve song collection of progressive influenced music from these veteran musicians. Clocking in at 70 minutes, the music pays tribute to a variety of their influences from the 1970?s through the modern day. The reunion of Stephen, Victor and Steve has brought magic back to Unified Past?s music. The band hopes you enjoy their music and welcomes any feed back that you may have.
