Wanderingfolk - random meetigs & goodbyes

Biography

WanderingFolk has performed extensively in the central New York region as well as in the neighboring states of New Jersey and Massachusetts. From First Night celebrations in Maplewood and South Orange, New Jersey and Saratoga Springs, New York, to the Café Lena Folk-a-Thon in Saratoga Springs, New York and the Guthrie Center Hoot Night in Housatonic,

Massachusetts. WanderingFolk has been gaining dedicated fans from the passers-by and newcomers at each and every show. Influenced by artists such as Arlo Guthrie, Peter, Paul & Mary, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Jethro Tull, Woody Guthrie and Simon & Garfunkel, WanderingFolk does not merely mimic any one musical style, but, rather, takes the best aspects of many styles and creates music that is fresh and adaptable to any audience.

Christine and Joe note, ?Our music has taken us on a journey from the traditional folk scene to what is considered acoustic or folk music now. In 2006, we performed at the Guthrie Center Community Thanksgiving Dinner in Housatonic, Massachusetts; what an honor and a thrill it was to be involved in such a worthy cause at the very church where the 1969 film, ?Alice?s Restaurant? was filmed!

Folk music is the music of the people, and it?s quite a trip to see that though times have changed, people still have the same basic desires and ideals.? Combining their deeply ingrained sense of the folk scene of yesterday with the influence of musical artists and events, past and present,

WanderingFolk is comfortable and familiar, surprising and socially conscious, not trendy, but definitely relevant to fans of real, honest music.
